After nearly three and a half months on tour, nearly fifty shows, and a whole lot of cabaret-ing, Courtney & Brydie have finished their 2013 tour of Sugar & Vice - All The Men We’ve Never Slept With. Courtney and Brydie would love to thank the entire Gilded Balloon team, the other amazing acts that they performed alongside, and all the incredible audiences who saw them divulge their sexy songs and stories. Courtney has had a wonderful time on tour, and is looking forward to beginning the writing process for next years show!
On the last Sunday of the fringe, Courtney and Brydie were invited to perform with DJ Tom Loud, along with a select few Australian performers, at his hit fringe show Hot Dub Time Machine. Courtney had an amazing night, dancing to all the hits through the ages, in front of a thousand-strong crowd. A fantastic way to end the Fringe!
Courtney is very excited to announce that Sugar & Vice has been booked for SPANK! in Edinburgh. A late night variety show, with enviable alumni (including Rhys Darby and Adam Hills), SPANK! is a fantastic fringe experience, and one that both Courtney and Brydie are very excited about!
Sugar & Vice have made it to Edinburgh!! Courtney and Brydie have had their first week of shows, and are loving being back at The Gilded Balloon. They’ve had fantastic audiences, and really fun shows. They have a guest spot tonight with Stand Up Tragedy tonight, and with others to come in the next few weeks. Excitement all ‘round!
This week, Courtney and Brydie toured Sugar & Vice to Buxton, UK. A beautiful town, with vibrant gardens, luscious parks, and the most divine theatre space - The Orchestra Pit (a part of Underground Venues). Courtney and Brydie felt so privileged to have had such wonderful audiences, and a fantastic venue staff. Of course, after unloading into the venue, there was a little time for play - in an adult-sized playground (as if they weren’t going to take advantage of that!). Also, a big Happy July 4th, to all Courtney’s American family! Funnel cakes, pot-luck picnics, and fireworks, are being dreamt of in your honour! Here’s a throwback to 2007: Courtney’s first July 4th, with fellow interns from The New York City Summer Play Festival, in Central Park, New York City! Sugar & Vice's Buxton shows are the last, before Courtney and Brydie head up to Edinburgh. Watch this space for more news and updates - the official Sugar & Vice website is now up - http://www.sugarandvice.net/, so keep your eyes peeled for news, and anotehr top secret Sugar & Vice project! Stay tuned! Courtney and Brydie had a fantastic run with Sugar & Vice, at the Canal Cafe Theatre, London. From their brilliant tech supervisor, to the wonderful venue staff, and of course the amazing audiences, Courtney and Brydie had a ball!
It was wonderful performing the show in London - having so many familiar faces in the audiences was so exciting. Courtney & Brydie can’t wait to bring the show back again! Last Thursday, Courtney had the pleasure performing with actor/singer Danielle Arden, on a brand new project: Stand On The Mark, Please! An original piece by Danielle (music/arrangements by Courtney), beautifully detailing the quirks of the salacious audition routes in the 1940s New York City. Punctuated with music, and incredible comic timing from Danielle,Stand On The Mark, Please! is a show that is entertaining, classy, and just the right amount of cheeky. Courtney and Danielle performed the piece to a fantastic audience at Shaker & Company, London. A truly wonderful show to be a part of. Courtney and Danielle hope to perform the show again in London, during the summer. To find out more about Danielle, please visit this vivacious, and hugely talented, lady’s website:http://www.daniellearden.com/.
