![]() In January, Courtney was honoured to join with acclaimed director and activist Benita de Wit, on an incredibly important project. Benita is filming one person, for every one of the 536 men detained on Manus Island, who were denied entry into Australia, as asylum seekers. "Asylum seekers who come by boat without a visa are denied settlement in Australia. They are taken to Manus Island in Papua New Guinea, where they face mandatory detention. They often face shortages of food and water, inadequate medical attention and high rates of mental illness. We are filming one person for every man detained on Manus Island." - director Benita de Wit. To support this project, head to https://manusproject.com/.
Matron Mama Morton is one of the dream musical theatre roles, and Courtney is absolutely honoured to have had the opportunity to play her. Playing across from Kristina McNamara (Velma), Erin Carlton (Roxie), Gavin Brightwell (Billy Flynn), Jared Pallesen (Mary Sunshine), Scott Dias (Amos), and Luke Davis (MC), was a joy - an experience Courtney will never forget.
